Reviews

great views

What an amazing view from the top of this tower. We also did the 'Edge' experience within the tower, not for the faint hearted if you are scared of heights, still, its worth doing for the views. Very nice café as well. great viewing platforms. Located centrally within Melbourne close to the Yarra river cruise departure areas.
Awesome

The sheer euphoric experience of standing on The Edge. The attendant’s were very helpful & guided my friend & myself all way thru this fabulous experience.
Great view, worth doing

Fabulous views, better than expected. Enjoyed a drink from the bar to take it all in, and it wasn’t overfull up there. I would echo the previous reviewer and say that it doesn’t look worth it to buy anything other than the basic ticket. ‘The edge’ looked pretty boring - you can just do the other outside viewing area without paying extra. Think it’s better value to book online too. We booked it the day before, and it worked out well as there were no time restrictions on the ticket. Nearly didn’t do this on our recent trip, but really glad we did. Our 12 year old son enjoyed it too.
Highly recommend

Wonderful views. They provide a good deal of information about the sites you are seeing all over the city. Children and adults enjoyed this.
Great view

The view from this building is great, and taking a drink in the bar is worthwhile.
No point in getting anything but the basic ticket IMO.
It was a great experience

Amazing View of Melbourne

The official name of the observation deck is the Melbourne Skydeck and it is in the Eureka Tower. Being on the 89th floor, it provides amazing views of the City.
I went before dark so I could take both daytime and nighttime photos. Most of the daytime photos turned out okay . However, I encountered a problem with the reflection/glare on the glass from lights inside the deck on some of the daytime photos, but especially with the night shots. The biggest light source problem for the nighttime photos came from a concession stand inside the deck.
I started out using a Nikon 7500 DSLR but got better night photos with less reflection and glare off of the glass with the camera in my Samsung GalaxyS10 cell phone.
Better than expected! Worth the price.

Husband & I took a friend visiting from overseas here, and bought tickets for “the Edge” experience. I had been on it maybe 8 or so years ago, and I have to say, it was actually better than I remembered!

It was quite fun, and the “room” you’re in really moves out from the building. Once you’re out, the floor clears - so you can straight look down - if you wish!
Our friend is scared of heights, so although she had chosen this activity, she didn’t look down, and we each kept a hand on her for comfort.

They also offer a photo with just you or your group, afterwards, and the prices were extremely reasonable, compared to many other attractions I’ve visited.

The only negative part of the experience was the fake noise! Why they feel the need to play a creaking, cranking, thundery soundtrack as the “room” moves out is beyond me. It does nothing for the experience but detract a bit from it.

It’s also fun to walk around the sky deck and look at the view from various perspectives, and there’s a snack bar & bar, plus toilets, all nearby.
Good View of Melbourne and Vicinity

The Skydeck was average as this type of observation platform goes. 'The Edge' option was a ripoff. The outdoor view from the fenced area was equally as impressive and it was free.
